Learn the basics of relief printing! Matt Swanson will take you through the steps of transferring simple images to a block, then using tools to carve the block before using it to pull prints on paper.

We will be using introductory tools and water-washable inks, but these skills transfer to more advanced techniques very nicely! These types of prints are great for at-home card-making, fabric printing and much more.

Attendees are encouraged to bring in a black-and-white image of their choice, though it should be high contrast and relatively simple / low detail, since we will want to be able to carve it and print it during our class.
